GATING
There is tyranny,
Awful dedication
In the aging, spoiled faces
Of the privileged
Cast.

Giant four wheel drive
Trucks
Wheel patron and matron
To and from office and home
Protecting mommy and daddy
From the Infidels.
*
Security is all
And 1958's insurance salesman
Is 1998's financial adviser.
*
The fascists of 2010
Will have grey hair,
Driving
Armored four wheel drives.
*
You will be one of them.
You may find yourself
Inside a bunker.
The New Bastille.
Gated of course.

INCANDESCENCE
I am sitting around
Like everyone else,
Surviving
In the artificial
Light.
*
Grey and harmless,
Everyone
Survives the night.
*
Now I know the nature
Of this scene.
It's a beautiful morning.
