Mr. Woloshyn,
This morning ( March 8/02) you made a remark roughly to the effect of the Israel-Palestinian
conflict coming down to our
suicide bombers against your suicide bombers.
The Israelis do not produce suicide bombers. The Palestinians do and promote suicide bombing as
a feat of religious
martyrdom. In my estimation, your comments pander to the silent but pervasive anti-Semitism
that is symptomatic of the
pretentious neutrality known derisively as the 'Canadian disease'.
Establishing equivalency between terrorist murders and the military response to such carnage is
the tactic tried unsuccessfully by
leftists against the U.S. early on after September 11. Unfortunately, but predictably, Israelis and
Jews are a much easier target
for this kind of cowardly illogic. Please do not contribute to the smug righteousness that supports
such nonsense.
